League Electrical Terms & Conditions

These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern the supply of electrical services by League Electrical (“League Electrical”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) to any person, business, organisation, strata manager, builder, property manager, owner, tenant, developer, or other entity requesting or receiving services from us (“Customer”, “you”, or “your”).

These Terms apply to all services provided by League Electrical and to your use of our website.

By requesting a quote, accepting a quote, allowing us access to a site, or making any payment to League Electrical, you are deemed to have accepted these Terms.

These Terms, together with any accepted quote, proposal, estimate, invoice, email approval, or work order, form the agreement between you and League Electrical.

1. Services

League Electrical provides electrical contracting services, including but not limited to:

  • Residential electrical services
  • Commercial electrical services
  • Strata electrical services
  • Electrical maintenance and repairs
  • Lighting installation and upgrades
  • Power installation and upgrades
  • Switchboard upgrades and repairs
  • Fault finding and troubleshooting
  • CCTV and security system installation
  • Data and communication cabling
  • Compliance works and safety upgrades
  • Emergency lighting and exit lighting
  • Electrical testing and certification
  • Other electrical services as agreed in writing

The exact scope of services will be defined in the relevant quote, estimate, work order, invoice, or written communication.

2. Quotes and Estimates

Quotes issued by League Electrical are based on the information available at the time, including site inspections, drawings, photos, and information provided by the customer.

Unless otherwise stated:

  • Quotes are valid for 14 days
  • Quotes assume normal working conditions and site access
  • Quotes exclude unforeseen site conditions or hidden defects

If site conditions differ from expected conditions or additional work is required to complete the job safely or in compliance, additional costs may apply.

A quote becomes accepted once:

  • You approve the quote in writing
  • You request us to proceed
  • We attend site to perform the work
  • A deposit is paid

3. Deposits

League Electrical may require a deposit or progress payments before commencing work or ordering materials.

Deposits may be required for:

  • Larger projects
  • Special order materials
  • Custom items
  • Commercial works

Work may not be scheduled or commenced until the deposit has been received.

4. Variations

Any change to the agreed scope of work will be treated as a variation.

Variations may occur where:

  • The customer requests additional work
  • Site conditions require additional work
  • Hidden defects are discovered
  • Compliance upgrades are required
  • Materials or installation requirements change

Variations may be charged based on:

  • A new written quote
  • Time and materials
  • Our standard hourly rates

Where possible, we will inform you before proceeding with variations. However, urgent work required for safety or compliance may be completed immediately and invoiced accordingly.

5. Customer Responsibilities

The customer must:

  • Provide safe and unobstructed access to the site
  • Ensure the site is ready for work to commence
  • Obtain required approvals from owners, strata, building management, or councils where required
  • Provide accurate information about the site and existing electrical installation
  • Ensure pets and hazards are secured before our arrival

If we arrive on site and cannot proceed due to lack of access, unsafe conditions, or incomplete site preparation, call-out or reattendance fees may apply.

6. Site Access and Delays

If we are unable to carry out the work due to circumstances outside our control, including:

  • Locked premises
  • Site not ready
  • Safety hazards
  • Other trades blocking access
  • Missing approvals
  • Customer not present where required

League Electrical reserves the right to charge for:

  • Call-out fees
  • Travel time
  • Labour costs
  • Rescheduling or reattendance

Timeframes provided for completion are estimates only unless otherwise stated in writing.

7. Existing Electrical Installations

When working on existing installations, hidden defects may be discovered, including:

  • Damaged wiring
  • Non-compliant installations
  • Overloaded circuits
  • Unsafe previous electrical work
  • Faulty switchboards or protection devices

If such issues are discovered, additional work may be required to ensure the installation is safe and compliant with applicable standards.

8. Payment Terms

Unless otherwise agreed in writing:

  • Residential service invoices may be due immediately upon completion
  • Commercial and strata invoices are due within the period stated on the invoice
  • If no payment period is stated, invoices are due within 7 days

League Electrical reserves the right to request payment before energising or commissioning equipment where applicable.

9. Late Payment

If payment is not received by the due date, League Electrical may:

  • Charge interest on overdue amounts
  • Suspend or stop work
  • Withhold compliance certificates or documentation
  • Engage debt collection services
  • Recover reasonable legal and collection costs

10. Security of Payment

Where applicable, our invoices may constitute a payment claim under the Building and Construction Industry Security of Payment Act 1999 (NSW).

Nothing in these Terms limits our rights under that Act.

11. Materials and Ownership

All materials supplied by League Electrical remain the property of League Electrical until full payment has been received.

Risk in materials passes to the customer upon delivery or installation.

12. Defects and Notification

Customers must inspect the completed work promptly.

Any defects or concerns that are reasonably visible must be reported in writing within 10 business days of completion.

This does not affect any rights you may have under Australian Consumer Law.

League Electrical must be given a reasonable opportunity to inspect and rectify any defect before another contractor is engaged.

13. Australian Consumer Law

Nothing in these Terms excludes or restricts any rights or remedies you may have under the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth) or Australian Consumer Law.

Where permitted by law, our liability is limited to:

  • Re-supplying the services; or
  • Paying the cost of having the services supplied again.

14. Safety and Compliance

League Electrical will perform services in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and Australian Standards.

We reserve the right to refuse to carry out work that is unsafe, illegal, or non-compliant.

15. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, League Electrical is not liable for:

  • Indirect or consequential loss
  • Loss of business or profit
  • Damage caused by pre-existing defects
  • Delays caused by third parties or supply issues
  • Damage resulting from inaccurate information supplied by the customer

16. Cancellation and Rescheduling

If booked works are cancelled or rescheduled without reasonable notice, League Electrical may charge reasonable costs, including:

  • Administration costs
  • Labour allocation costs
  • Material restocking fees
  • Travel and call-out fees

17. Privacy

League Electrical may collect personal information in order to:

  • Provide quotes
  • Schedule work
  • Issue invoices
  • Communicate with customers
  • Deliver services

Information may be shared with employees, contractors, suppliers, insurers, software providers, and legal advisers where reasonably required to provide services.

18. Website Use

Content on this website is provided for general information only.

League Electrical does not guarantee that all information on the website is current, complete, or error-free.

Use of the website is at your own risk.

19. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia.

Any disputes will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of New South Wales.
